B. Lucchi-
Zionsville, IN I
have written positive reviews for Ed before, but I'm such a demanding
customer, I figure it's the least I
can do to add one more praiseful review for him on Angie's List.
My standards are very high--maybe even too high--but Ed rises to the
challenge every time, including my most recent visit. I don't know how his
prices compare to others because I wouldn't think of shopping around to go
anywhere else. Ed is THE go-to place for framing in Indianapolis.
Can't say enough good about his work. Highly recommended!!!!!

It was a superb experience. Ed took a long time and utilized his expertise and
patience to make my options clear to me. There was no pressure to opt for a
certain price point. The man loves his work and the visit to his shop and conversation
were delightful, equaled in time by the excellent product. Cheaper framing can
be found elsewhere, but I have a hard time imagining better value and service.
Ed brought his artistic expertise down to my level in order to allow me to make
intelligent choices. A true craftsman and gentleman!

Each phase of the process was great. I found Ed easy to talk to and very creative
and professional. I went to four frame shops before going to Picture This. Each
price was the same when factoring in coupons. The results at this shop are wonderful
and you don't have to play the coupon game and you get an expert artist to help
guide you. You will find that the price of framing does not vary from place
to place. With coupons your price other places will be exactly the same as Ed's.
I shopped four places and found this out...with coupons

Ed Smith is the
best! My husband and I had a couple prints framed and they are absolutely
beautiful! I had a favorite framing shop I used when living in Ohio, and I
thought it would be very difficult to find someone as good as they are, but
Ed far exceeded my expectations. We will get all our framing done at Picture
This Gallery.
Ed Smith has a great eye for mats and frame choices. We were a bit undecided
as to how to proceed with the prints we wanted frame, but Ed took plenty of
time to walk us through the decision-making process. We couldn't be more
pleased with the results!

We had purchased a large, very attractive, but poorly framed and preserved Chinese
embroidery while on vacation in San Francisco. The piece needed to be re-mounted
properly, as it had not been mounted properly in the first place, and required
a creative approach to matting and framing to bring out its true beauty.
Ed did a fantastic job! He takes pride in his work, and uses the proper materials
and processes to preserve artwork professionally. He spent a lot of time presenting
and describing various options for the mounting and preservation of our artwork,
and the cost differential of each. He also spent as much time as we needed to
select the appropriate framing for our treasure, which due to its composition,
was not an easy assignment. He has excellent vision and artistic sensibility.
Our ultimate choice was far from what I envisioned when I walked through the
door; however, I could not have been MORE PLEASED with the result! His workmanship
and execution were superb! The ultimate appeal of a piece of fine art is determined
by both the quality of the artwork itself and the quality and compatibility
of its presentation. Ed's services are worth the price because he produces a
perfect pairing of piece and presentation. Because he does all the work himself,
the delivery of the finished product takes a few weeks. You won't be disappointed
with Ed and his work! He is a consummate craftsman.

This went swimmingly --
Ed Smith (owner) was available and willing to do the mat work
immediately. He talked through mat options, what choices would go
well with the print, what size- and orientation of opening to use in
the mat for best looking results!
Far beyond "what color you want, where you want the hole?" that I've
received from other frame shops.
When done, Ed added 60-lb rated hanging wire (with nice plastic
coating) to the frame, and gave us a heavy-duty hanging bracket --
no additional charge!
Ed enjoys his work, and aims to please his customers. I really
appreciate the above-and-beyond service that he provides. And, I
wanted a minor adjustment made a few days later, and he gladly did
the work, again, without further charge.

I brought two
paintings to Ed that were very special to us. After consulting with Ed,
trying several options and discussing the method by which we would hang the
paintings, we chose a frame. The paintings have no obvious horizontal or
vertical placement so Ed suggested a manner by which we could hang them
either direction. I had had very negative experiences with previous framers
but Ed was wonderful! He was very helpful in choosing the frame material but
never pushed me toward a more expensive option. Ed was also very patient -
it took me quite a while to decide which frame to use! The finished product
is beautiful - the paints are now properly displayed and enhanced by their
frames! Ed even gave me a discount because the afternoon I initially arrived
to pick up the paintings, he wasn't there. This was after he had called a
couple of times to advise me that my paintings were ready! He is a great guy
to work with and I highly recommend him. We will entrust him with our
special art in the future!

Excellent as usual! We admire Ed's creativity and patience, in addition to the
obvious flawless execution! When he says, "it will be done by...",
I know it will be done as committed. Thanks again, Ed! You get what you pay
for....superior to Michael's, etc. excellent work and processes...not a cheap
framing clone. I admire his high-passion for what he does and how he executes
to the same high level.

From start to finish, Ed took incredible time discussing each print, the appropriate
frames, mats, type of glass - and was a terrific listener in regard to where
the finished works would go - colors of the room, style of the furniture, etc.
He turned a simple print, and a wonderful memory into pieces of art. The pictures
were done in the time frame promised, and were hanging in the office within
an hour of when I picked them up. I have already taken another print to him
for framing! The amount of time Ed took - as if I was his only customer. He
cared about the work he did, and how it would work in my home.
